The flagship object
The Pomegranate Lintel
Numbered first run of 100
A small carved wall piece of Miriam’s doorway, to hang over a door in your own house.
Eliezer carved the first one in the evenings after the paying work, by lamplight, with the fine chisels he kept wrapped in oiled cloth. His wife asked him why a pomegranate.
”Cut one open sometime and count the seeds. Go on, try. You can’t, near enough. Hundreds of them. More than you would ever think could fit inside a thing the size of your fist. All of that, packed away in one tough little outside. You would never guess it was in there to look at the thing. That’s what I want over the door. Not gold. Anybody can wish you gold, it costs them nothing. I want everyone who walks under here to walk under a sign that says there’s more inside than shows.”
The crown is left rough, as his was.
